I modified the original pattern -- one row shorter, one row narrower, and I eliminated one of the pattern's borders.
I'll get this ready for quilting ASAP--and I'll probably use one of my go-to colors, a dusty green or a muted gold. If I'm quilting a scrappy project like this one, I've learned not to use a single matching bold thread. I prefer muted and behind-the-scenes colors.
