When I got home from our department meeting this week, a gift from Sheryl was waiting for me at the front door. Sheryl was one of the last two quilt recipients, a very artistic and generous lady. This is a 20" x 28" window she salvaged from somewhere. The original sash lock is still on top, and the original bar lift is at the bottom.
Sheryl frosted the glass, painted the sewing machine and saying
on the front, added some buttons and brass doo-dads for subdued bling,
and attached a textured, vintage-looking curtain panel that shows
through to the front. It's a charming window, a lovely gift, and an
My coworkers each brought a flower to the meeting, and the collection of
flowers was crowded into two large vases for me to take home. The
group included daisies, carnations, sunflowers, roses, hydrangea, asters, and alstroemeria. They're still looking pretty good after four days.
If I'm lucky and focused, I may have a couple UFO finishes to share soon.
